HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut Attorney General William Tong is the latest state official weighing in on the potential sale of the Connecticut Sun.
He announced Thursday that he is launching an inquiry into rumors that the WNBA is blocking legitimate offers from buyers, including ones that would keep the team in Connecticut.
“We are women’s basketball, and we’re a dominant force in the sport broadly,” Tong said, announcing he plans to send a letter to the commissioner of the WNBA, "commencing an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the potential sale of the Connecticut Sun."
