Departures at Orlando International Airport were briefly slowed Thursday by the Federal Aviation Administration due to a radar issue.
The airport announced in an X post around 1:15 p.m. that the FAA had ordered a ground stop because of an equipment issue. The airport announced in another X post an hour later that the ground stop had been lifted, but departure delays were still expected.
A spokesperson for the airport said around 5:30 p.m. that operations had returned to normal.
When asked for more information, the FAA referred to a statement it had issued earlier Thursday saying it was slowing departures at the airport due to a radar issue at the Central Florida Terminal Radar Approach Control. That statement said technicians were working to address the problem at the time.
