Syracuse, N.Y. — Interstate 690 West will be reduced to one lane Friday between Syracuse and Geddes, the state Department of Transportation said.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., only one lane will be open between Exit 10 (Geddes Street) and Exit 12B (Amphitheater/Fairgrounds/Solvay) to allow for bridge work, officials said.

Construction is weather-dependent and subject to change, DOT said.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone and follow all signs and flaggers. Fines are doubled for speeding in work zones, and two or more speeding violations could result in the suspension of a driver’s license.
