NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police announced on Thursday that an arrest has been made in connection to an assault that occurred on the morning of Aug. 9 in Fort Hale Park.

Officers received reports on Aug. 9 of a person being sexually assaulted while jogging on a trail near Fort Hale Dog Park, located at 408 Townsend Avenue. The victim reported that while running in a wooded area of the park, a Hispanic male attacked her after brandishing a box cutter.

Ludvi Carias-Interiano, 34, was arrested on Thursday morning and taken into custody. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault and unlawful restraint.

Carias-Interiano is being held on a $750,000 bond.
