A Revere man was sentenced Tuesday to 10 to 12 years in state prison for shooting at police, who returned fire, officials said.
Daniel Cote, 36, pleaded guilty to multiple charges of armed assault and possession of a firearm in Suffolk Superior Court, according to court records.
On April 8, 2022, police on patrol encountered Cote in the area of 430 Broadway, the Revere Police Department said.
“Officers soon observed that Cole was armed with a firearm, which he was waving erratically,” the statement said.
Additional officers arrived at the scene and told Cote to drop the weapon. Cote then fired multiple rounds at police, the statement said.
In response, a Revere officer shot a single round at Cote which struck him, police said.
No officers or bystanders were struck, police said.
