Ridley has leaned heavily on its ground game the past two weeks, and senior Kirkland Plummer has been right in the middle of all the fun.

Plummer amassed 116 yards at 5.5 yards per carry to lead the Green Raiders past Marple Newtown last week, a performance that earned him Central League coaches’ running back of the week honors.

He was joined by teammate Keegan Walsh, who earned athlete of the week recognition after scoring rushing for a touchdown and piling up seven tackles from the linebacker position.

Springfield also grabbed two weekly awards. Mike Francks was named offensive lineman of the week for anchoring a front that cleared the way for 350 rushing yards, while Shane Kilroy was voted receiver of the week with three catches for 95 yards and two scores.
