In the immediate aftermath of the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar offered a scathing critique of those eulogizing him, stating it was “f-ed up” to remember him solely for his good deeds.
Speaking on the show “Zeteo,” Omar accused Kirk of insensitivity on multiple fronts, from school shootings and the death of George Floyd to the history of slavery.
“Charlie was someone who once said guns save lives after a school shooting,” Omar told host Mehdi Hasan. She further alleged that Kirk had “downplayed” both the death of George Floyd and the significance of slavery and Juneteenth.
