The Island Corridor Foundation is touring a rail bus around Vancouver Island.

It was at the Alberni District fall fair this past weekend and it was in Ladysmith on Thursday.

The Foundation hopes the rail bus might generate some interest and ideas about how to revive either a commuter or tourist train on Vancouver Island.

In just a few minutes, the hybrid rail bus, with seats for 42 passengers, transitions from the road to the train tracks in Port Alberni.

A Saskatchewan-based company has loaned it to the Island Corridor Foundation, which is exploring it as a potential tourist attraction or commuter solution on Vancouver Island.
