Dueling protests held outside school board meeting over gender identity, other issues

Dueling rallies on Wednesday were held outside a school board meeting to support and oppose numerous topics, including the school district’s gender identity policy.

From the main entrance of the Frederick County Public Schools central office building on South East Street down to the city of Frederick Visitor Center, roughly 150 people stood and shouted with signs that read “Make academics the priority” for one group and “Protect queer students” for the other group.
