VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) - A weeks-long strike at Evergreen Public Schools came to an end Thursday after union members voted to approve the new contract, according to the school district.

EPS Superintendent Dr. Christine Moloney said classes will begin Friday, Sept. 12.

According to Dr. Moloney, the tentative agreement was reached on Wednesday night between the district and the union representing paraeducators and other school workers.

The workers had been on strike since the start of the new semester three weeks ago .

FOX 12 spoke with paraeducators and parents following news of the agreement.
