COLLINGSWOOD — All the wins are to be savored as far as West Deptford senior quarterback Brady Cobb is concerned, but Thursday’s 48-0 win over Collingswood in a West Jersey Football League Patriot Division game was admittedly extra special.
It wasn’t just that it improved West Deptford to 3-0, 2-0 as the Eagles are living up to their billing as one of the major division contenders.
The win came on Sept. 11, the 24th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. One of the people killed was former West Deptford star running back Nick Brandemarti. In 1996, Brandemarti set a school record with a 340-yard effort in a game at Gateway, a mark that still exists today.
