KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — University of Tennessee students held a candlelight memorial for Charlie Kirk on Thursday after his death on Wednesday.

Students gathered at the seal to pay their respects, as the university has a "Turning Point USA" chapter on its campus. A student at the memorial said that kirk's death was tragic, but it could inspire people to stand up for what they believe in.

"He just kind of took on like a big brother role for all of the young people in America and wants to lead them whichever side of the spectrum you're on," a student said.

That woman said she feels as though she is grieving with Kirk's family despite only having seen him once.
