BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - University of Mary transfer running back Derrian Brown has been fighting an uphill battle since his senior year of high school. Brown has faced many life-changing hurdles in his path to Bismarck to play for the Marauders.
Derrian Brown has been waiting for his turn since 2019.
“If I didn’t want to play the game of football. I would’ve hung it up a long time ago,” Brown said.
Instead, Brown is getting another second chance at the University of Mary.
“I just wanted to tell the coaches what I could do,” Brown said.
He was a top 25 running back in the country out of high school with a scholarship waiting at the University of Texas, but fate intervened.
“I just thought that it was a migraine,” Brown said.
That was right before signing his national letter of intent
