SEATTLE — Annabel Quintero broke her silence about surviving the World Trade Center attacks by publishing a book in 2021 about her harrowing escape from the 46th floor of the North Tower on Sept. 11, 2001.
Raised in the Seattle area, Quintero attended the University of Washington before moving to New York in her early twenties to pursue her career dreams. She was alone at work inside the office of a boutique hedge fund in One World Trade Center when the first hijacked plane struck 50 floors above her.
When the plane hit, Quintero struggled to understand what was happening.
"All of a sudden, I feel something, like, fall on my building," she recalled. "And then an earthquake began."
