It’s time for kickoff. Newsday’s inaugural high school fantasy football season begins this week.

The league features 10 teams, and it’s time to preview each roster. Staff members will be battling for bragging rights each time out.

Team Ferguson: First overall pick Shane Kiernan, the quarterback from Miller Place, leads the way. Smithtown West’s Michael Cascione and Hempstead’s Jonathan Davis add versatility and impact whenever they touch the ball.

Team Sarra: Ja’Quan Thomas led Long Island in rushing last season and guided William Floyd to a county title. Eastport-South Manor’s Max Ferraro adds another strong runner, while Wantagh quarterback Carter Loughman steps into a starting role and will look to elevate the offense.
