RAVENA, NY (NEWS10) -- The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk football team opened their season with a road win over Gloversville. Now the Ravens prepare for their home opener against Averill Park in the 1st & 10 Game of the Week.

After a bid at 4 Section titles in a row was thwarted last season with a title game loss to Glens Falls, R-C-S began the year with a little extra motivation. The Ravens return 8 starters on each side of the ball from the 2024 season.

On the other side, the Golden Knights also enter 1-0 on the year. Averill Park won the Class A championship in 2024 but dropped down to Class B before the 2025 season.

As the Ravens prepare for this crucial league game in Class B, they know it's going to be a physical game and that the play in the trenches will be a key.
