SURRY -- An upcoming November vote could impact everything from property taxes to wildlife for residents of towns abutting Toddy Pond.

The Narramissic Watershed Coalition is leading an effort to preserve dams in toddy pond and Orland's Alamoosook Lake. To educate residents on the issues, they held information sessions in each town bordering toddy pond -- Orland , Penobscot, Blue Hill and Surry . The latter town had a meeting on the matter Thursday evening.

"It's about all the people that recreate, the alewives, the loons, the eagles," Toddy Pond Association member Rita Roberts said about who will be affected by the dams. "I think we still have a lot of information to impart to people...and I think it's just good for people to learn the facts."
