KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Dr. Chris Metzger is returning to the Ballad Health CVA Heart Institute in Kingsport, according to Ballad Health.

Metzger left Ballad in 2023 to become the system vascular chief at OhioHealth. He specializes in advanced coronary interventions, carotid stenting, endovascular procedures for the treatment of vascular disease, clinical research, and teaching activities, Ballad said.

“I’m truly excited to return to my friends at Ballad Health and the Ballad Health CVA Heart Institute,” Metzger said. “My recent role as system vascular chief at OhioHealth was deeply rewarding and expanded my horizons in academic medicine, while also reaffirming that the cardiovascular program we’ve built and sustained in this region is second to none."
