A Meriden mother and her teenage son were reunited with their family at Boston Logan International Airport on Thursday after being stuck in Israel for nearly a month due to what they allege was a discriminatory travel ban based on their Palestinian heritage.

Intifada Abdelghani and her 14-year-old son, Musa, were expected to return to the United States on August 14 after visiting family in the West Bank. It’s a trip the family has made many times before, but instead of boarding their flight, the pair was stopped by Israeli authorities, who they say rejected their U.S. passports and demanded Palestinian Authority documents.
