MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The McAllen Fire Department held an annual remembrance ceremony to pay respects to the lives lost in the September 11, 2001, attacks.
Alex Rosa, Chief of EMS for Lone Star Ambulance, delivered a speech about the historic day.
"This is my third year doing this speech, and every time I do it, I remember the faces of that day," Rosa said.
Rosa believes the nation persevered through the tragedy of the attacks with unity.
"I think the one thing that got us through was a bond that is unbreakable," Rosa said. "We're all not going to agree on everything, but we are one nation, and to remind ourselves together we can get through everything."
