FOREST ACRES, S.C. — Forest Acres police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured Thursday evening at The Landings Apartments.

According to the Forest Acres Police Department, the call came in around 7:26 p.m. reporting shots fired at the complex off Covenant Road. Officers arrived on scene within three minutes.

An adult male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery. Police say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

When officers arrived, they described the scene as chaotic. Witnesses reported the suspect may have fled in multiple directions, prompting officials to expand the search area. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department assisted with a K9 tracking team.
