HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Turning Point USA chapter at the University of Alabama in Huntsville held a vigil on Thursday to pray for Charlie Kirk and his family following his assassination on Wednesday.
Dozens of students stood in the pouring rain as they prayed. Even as the rain fell, the emotions on their faces could still be seen.
Griffin Utz, a student at UAH, said political violence is never the answer.
"It's just sad what happened," Utz said. "People should still have the right to speak no matter what their thoughts are. It's horrible. Gun Violence is never good. Violence in general is never good, especially when it's political."
Another UAH student, Jeffrey King, said that showing support regardless of which side you are on is important.
