SHREVEPORT, La. - Healthcare professionals were honored Thursday night in downtown Shreveport at Ochsner LSU Health's "An Evening for Healers."
The event celebrates doctors, nurses and first responders while raising money for life-saving equipment.
Since its beginning, the gala has shared over 30 inspiring patient stories and honored more than 900 healthcare workers. Over the last 14 years over $4 million has been raised. This year's $500,000 fundraising goal was met before the night even started.
One patient featured was Jubilee Williams, 2. Born at 22 weeks, Jubilee weighed less than a pound at birth. Her mother, Temper Williams, says the team at Ochsner LSU Health's NICU ward saved her child's life.
