CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — West Texas A&M University officials announced that its enrollment grew this fall, climbing to 9,257 students, up from 9,055 last year. The jump is a more than 2% increase overall, with undergraduate numbers rising 3.29%.
“This increase shows our efforts are paying off,” WT President Walter V. Wendler said. “We’re committed to giving students the resources they need to succeed.”
WT officials credited the gains to initiatives like the WT Educators Excellence Initiative, which offers half-off tuition for Region 16 educators.
The Rogers College of Education and Social Sciences grew more than 6%, while the Department of Agricultural Sciences set a record with 1,194 students, making it WT’s largest department.
