ST. LOUIS and ST. CHARLES, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The shooting and killing of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, just the latest in an increasing amount of political violence in America, has prompted further reflection in the country.

Incidents like this have also led people to reflect on their security when attending events and in public.

A vigil Thursday night for Kirk and his family in St. Charles County brought people together, while also opening up dialogue about violence in the country.

“You don’t have to know somebody to care about them as a human being that was gunned down for what he believes in,” said Brandon McNamee.

With heads bowed in prayer and candles lit in Frontier Park in St. Charles, the assassination of Kirk remained at the top of people’s minds.
