BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The family of 82-year-old Aldorithia Burrell still has no answers after she was shot and killed on her front porch in Birmingham’s West End community last week .

As police try to figure out who pulled the trigger, the reward money for information about the shooting is growing. The Birmingham business community is stepping up to help.

Carnelle Howard with Howell Consulting Services is one of several business owners putting up $8,500 in hopes someone will come forward with information on who killed Burrell who was a church-going great-grandmother and a neighborhood matriarch.

Howell said business owners have always come together in times like this to lend a helping hand. He’s also a member of the Birmingham Crime Commission.
