We've got a warming trend shaping up for Lafayette and much of Northern Indiana as we head into the weekend and beyond.

Looking at our initial forecast data, we're seeing temperatures gradually climb, with highs expected to reach the near 90-degree mark by Saturday. However, Saturday itself looks to be a bit cloudier with highs around 84 degrees, and winds picking up slightly from the south-southwest.

As we push past the weekend, expect that heat to really build. Sunday will bring a return to mainly sunny skies with that heat intensifying, pushing the high to 91 degrees. Monday and Tuesday will remain hot with highs in the low 90s, featuring a mix of sun and clouds or mostly sunny skies, quite typical for this time of year but certainly feeling warm for early September.
