SEATTLE — O'Dea football coach Monte Kohler made history on Thursday night, becoming the all-time winningest high school football coach in the state.

Last Friday night, O'Dea lost a heartbreaker in their season opener, but history would not wait long for coach Monte Kohler.

"It's not about that record, it's just about the process of going through all of it together with them and the players," Kohler said.

Less than a week later his Irish bounce back and Kohler picks up his historic 395th win.

Rainier Beach was fired up for their first home game of the season, but the defending 3A state champions from O'Dea were ready.

The Vikings put up a great fight, but O'Dea wins it 31-16.
