Western Australia's highest administrative authority is being asked to rule on the behaviour of a country family's pet dog.
Dozer, a golden labrador, is currently before the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT), with his owners the Weller family fighting an effort by the City of Greater Geraldton (CGG) to have him declared a dangerous dog.
The dog was seized by rangers on August 7, after allegedly attacking another resident's dog when they walked past the home, and was declared "dangerous".
Under WA's Dog Act, the ruling would require the Wellers to fit Dozer with an identifying collar, confine him to an enclosure preventing his escape and muzzle him when outside the enclosure, risking fines of up to $10,000 for any breaches.
