Veteran quarterback Derek Carr didn’t leave football on his own, his wife Heather had long urged him to walk away. After years of pain, surgeries, and silent Monday mornings where he couldn’t get out of bed without help, Carr finally listened. Leaving behind $30 million wasn’t easy, but Heather was done with the burden she’d been silently carrying.

Of course, it was probably the hardest decision of his life, but one that had to be made . “ It wasn’t easy, I promise. It was hard.
