Ava Kiser dished out 21 assists and had 13 digs as she was one of many stars for the Abingdon Falcons in their 25-15, 25-11, 25-12 triumph over Ridgeview in a Mountain 7 District volleyball showdown on Thursday night.
The two teams split four meetings last year and Ridgeview went on to win the VHSL Class 2 state title.
“We played some of the best volleyball tonight that we’ve played all season,” said first-year AHS coach Alexis Carson Perkins. “I told the girls coming into this game that Ridgeview is the defending [Class 2] state champions for a reason and that we had to come out firing on all cylinders, and we did.”
