A cold start to spring has meant the fruit trees in Perth’s Hills have blossomed later and will last longer into spring.

They are perfect conditions for the much-loved S&R Orchard Blossom Festival, which returned for a 10th year on Friday.

The festival takes place in S&R Orchard in Walliston, where attendees can come to enjoy the freshly blossomed orchard and, if they feel like it, take a selfie.

S&R Orchard owner Santino Costanzo said the cool weather meant the blossoms would last longer this year.

“The blossoms are great this year but it’s just late as we’ve had cool weather late this year and with the late winter the trees are blossoming later than usual,” he said.
