SEA ISLE CITY — Mayor Leonard Desiderio hosted the city's annual Patriot Day ceremony Thursday in Veterans Park, where approximately 200 people gathered to reflect on the terrorist attacks. The ceremony featured guest speakers, patriotic hymns, prayers of remembrance and the placement of a wreath at the park’s memorial fountain.

It also included a display of two restored first response vehicles, courtesy of the Minchelli family, which serve as rolling memorials to the Sept. 11 attacks.

After the ceremony, Desiderio and Councilman William Kehner gave John Kostick, a 9/11 survivor, ground zero worker and organizer of The 9/11 Project, a ceremonial key to the city.
