Penn State’s James Franklin is one way away from tying Engle.

The 12th-year leader of the Lions’ program has 103 career wins in State College.

Franklin’s team is a prohibitive favorite against FCS Villanova on Saturday at Beaver Stadium.

Assuming Penn State beats the Wildcats, Franklin can claim second place alone with a win over Oregon in the Lions’ Sept. 27 White Out game.
