An Alabama man is recovering after he was bitten by a snake during a hike.
Tyler Roach was out hiking in the Sipsey Wilderness with his father on Thursday, Sept. 4, when he was bitten in the leg by the venomous snake. In a message on a GoFundMe set up to help with his hospital expenses, he called the experience “one of every hiker’s worst fears.”
Roach recalled feeling “a sharp pain” in his left calf as he was walking. He then “turned to look, and saw a large Copperhead” clamped down on his leg.
