Police have launched an investigation after two kitchen knives were stolen from a classroom at a school in Aberdeenshire .
Officers were alerted to the theft at Banchory Academy on Tuesday, September 9.
The blades were swiped from the school's home economics department during a lesson.
Pupils had their bags searched by staff last week, however, the knives are yet to be located.
Aberdeenshire Council confirmed they are assisting Police Scotland with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
