Gov. Greg Gianforte has directed state officials to resume planning out a behavioral health facility for eastern Montana, restarting a process that had caused some consternation among their local counterparts.
The governor underscored in a Wednesday letter to the Board of Investments to incorporate more public input into the planning phases for the new behavioral health site, although several questions remain regarding the specifics of what may be landing in the Yellowstone County region in the coming years.
"This project is of great importance to the State of Montana, as DPHHS must continue to build out capacity to take care of Montanans in need of behavioral health services," Gianforte wrote in the Sept. 10 letter. "I share the goals of the Legislature to complete this project quickly
