A person has been arrested over the killing of prominent right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk in a shooting at a university campus, Donald Trump has revealed. ‌

The 31-year-old father-of-two, who was a Donald Trump ally and co-founder of youth organisation Turning Point USA, was shot and killed at a Utah Valley University debate on September 10 in what authorities described as a political assassination. ‌

The US President said officials have a "high degree of certainty" the person they have arrested is the shooter who killed Kirk. ‌

Trump, on Fox News, said he doesn't know if the suspect is part of a greater network and did not reveal the persons identity.
