A maths teacher who groomed and sexually abused one of his students in Greater Manchester ten years ago has been spared jail.

Daniel Rowe, 39, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison, suspended for two years. He must also complete 25 days rehabilitation and has been barred from working with children for 10 years as well as being prohibited from contacting the victim for a decade.

The allegations date back more than 10 years, when Rowe received a warning from a senior colleague about what appeared to be an inappropriately close relationship between him and a student while he was working as a maths teacher in Greater Manchester.
