SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — President Donald Trump claimed authorities have arrested the individual they believe shot and killed Charlie Kirk.

President Donald Trump claimed Friday morning that officials believe "with a high degree of certainty" that they have caught the suspect who shot and killed Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University, according to the Associated Press.

Officials with the FBI and Utah Department of Public Safety are expected to provide updates to the investigation during a press conference at 7:30 a.m. Friday morning.

More than 7,000 leads and tips were sent to authorities. Officials have yet to name the suspect.
