The Andress Eagles couldn't have asked for a better start to their quest for a District 1-5A, Division 2 football title on Thursday night.
The Eagles, ranked No. 8 in this week's El Paso Times Top 10 poll, played consistently throughout and defeated Jefferson, 55-0, to tally their second straight win and improve to 2-1 overall. Jefferson is now 1-2.
Thursday's game was the district opener for both teams.
Andress shines on offense
With their win Thursday, the Eagles have scored 102 points in their last two games. Quarterback Jamari Milton threw three touchdown passes, all to receiver Aavant Clayton and running backs Carmelo Jones, Maximus Figgs, Brian Cordova and Diego Hernandez all scored touchdowns on Thursday.
