The suspect arrested in connection with the shooting of renowned right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk has been identified as 22 year old Tyler Robinson.
Robinson was apprehended two days after Kirk, a 31 year old father of two, ally of Donald Trump and co-founder of youth organisation Turning Point USA, was shot dead at a Utah Valley University debate in what authorities have labelled a political assassination.
It's reported that Robinson's own father, believed to be a former law enforcement official, turned him in. The news of the arrest was announced by US President Donald Trump on Fox News, who stated that officials have a "high degree of certainty" that the young man in custody is the suspected shooter.
The President revealed that "someone very close" to the suspect assist
