Brian Walshe was stabbed in jail Thursday while awaiting trial on allegations that he killed and dismembered his wife in 2023, according to multiple media reports.

Walshe was stabbed at the Norfolk County Correctional Center in Dedham Thursday night, his attorney told WCVB . The circumstances surrounding the alleged incident were not immediately clear, and Walshe’s defense attorneys were not reachable for comment Friday morning.

The Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office confirmed an individual at the jail was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening following an assault inside one of the facility’s housing units shortly before 10 p.m. The office did not identify the man in question but said he was conscious and alert when he was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in B
