Jackson police arrested a man in connection to a shooting that left one person dead in South Jackson.

Public Information Officer Tommie Brown said a white male victim, later identified as 39-year-old Charles Jackson , was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds Tuesday, Sept. 9, at a residence in the 2400 block of Coronet Place.

Brown said detectives arrested Robert Maximilian White, 32, Thursday, Sept. 11, in connection to Jackson's death.

White faces charges of capital murder, armed carjacking and two counts of armed robbery of a business. According to Brown, the business was Debo's Corner located at 955 Northside Drive.

According to the Clarion Ledger's records, Jackson's death marks the 41st homicide of 2025 that the Jackson Police Department has investigated.
