A former butler who worked for the Royal Family has lifted the lid on some of King Charles' 'bizarre' habits.
Paul Burrell said Charles has always demanded his staff adhere to exceptionally stringent protocols.
Burrell began his royal career as a footman at Buckingham Palace aged just 18.
He later transferred to Highgrove House, in Gloucestershire, to join the then Prince of Wales' household in 1987.
For 10 years, he served as both servant and trusted confidant to the late Princess Diana – claiming he was 'the only man she ever trusted'.
But he said his bond with Diana remained formal.
