AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Bond was denied Friday for a man charged in the shooting death of a 3-year-old boy.

According to Richmond County jail bookings, 32-year-old Carl B. Gant III is charged with murder, three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felony.

The shooting happened in the early hours of Aug. 20 on the 1100 block of New Savannah Road.

During the shooting, 3-year-old Bryson Murray was fatally shot, according to Coroner Mark Bowen.

The child was pronounced dead at 2:20 a.m.
