OSKALOOSA, Iowa (KCRG) - Several elected officials in Mahaska County issued a public statement decrying comments from an Oskaloosa art teacher.

Matt Kragol is now on paid leave for a comment he posted in the wake of the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kragol posted to social media “one Nazi down.

Oskaloosa’s superintendent said Kragol was placed on leave immediately and the school board will meet next week to consider firing him.

On Friday, a group of elected officials in Mahaska County, including three Oskaloosa School Board members, issued a joint statement denouncing Kragol’s comments.
