Qing Bao, the female giant Panda at the National Zoo in Washington, celebrated her fourth birthday with some boxed treats and an iced fruit cake.

This is Qing Bao's first birthday in the nation's capital.

She came to the National Zoo along with Bao Li as part of a 10 year agreement, that started in October 2024.

The first giant pandas cane to the U.S. in 1972 as part of the Smithsonian’s conservation program.

The program has made significant contributions to the recovery of these iconic animals, leading to their removal from the endangered species list in 2016.
