Deadly crash in Toms River leaves two women dead and child hospitalized

Toms River, NJ – A violent collision on Hooper Avenue near Fischer Boulevard left two women dead and a child injured Thursday night after an SUV crossed the median and slammed into another vehicle, according to investigators.

The crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. when a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 46-year-old man, veered southbound across the grass median and struck a 2025 Toyota RAV4 operated by a 28-year-old woman. The impact caused the Toyota to flip onto its passenger side and come to rest in a wooded area along the east side of the roadway.
