Florida football has cancelled future series with California, N.C. State and Arizona State , sources confirmed to the Gainesville Sun.
The Florida Gators were set to play a home-and-home series with Arizona State in 2028 and 2031, North Carolina State in 2026 and 2032 and California in 2026 and 2027. The game contracts for all matchups had out clauses for if the SEC were to expand to nine games. As a result, Florida won't incur a financial penalty for canceling all three series.
When the SEC announced it was expanding to nine-game conference schedule on August 21, Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin told the Gainesville Sun that cancelling series was on the table.
